Maize
Maize also known as yellow corn is a major feed grain and a standard component of ruminants diets where it is used as a source of energy. Corn contains approximately 72 percent starch on a dry-matter basis and other important segments in the corn kernel include protein, fiber and minerals. Maize is principally used within rations as as starch (energy) supplement and is most popular for poultry, dairy and beef cattle.
